Cell & Flare is hosted by Arjan Hura, MD, a Refractive, Cataract, & Anterior Segment Surgeon at the Maloney-Shamie Vision Institute in Los Angeles, California.
Arjan was inspired to start the podcast by the great wealth of talent, wisdom, integrity, and experience present in the ophthalmic community in Cincinnati, OH. During his time in Cincinnati as a medical student and resident, he had the privilege of working with many of the local ophthalmologists and optometrists and was constantly impressed by their excellence in helping patients and dedication to advancing eye care.
The stories from their time in training, experiences in clinic and OR, and lessons realized throughout their careers were so galvanizing that Cell & Flare was created as a conduit for others to benefit from the collective expertise and energy in the Cincinnati eye community, as well as from ophthalmologists, optometrists, industry, and researchers in the eye, healthcare, and technology space around the world.
